Asbestos Abatement Supervisor
The Asbestos Abatement Supervisor program builds on the Asbestos Abatement Worker program and prepares trainees to supervise asbestos abatement projects. The program exceeds NYS DOH and NYS DOL, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) training requirements. Participants receive extensive instruction and hands-on training on work area preparation, decontamination facility construction and use, abatement techniques, and cleanup procedures. Special emphasis is placed NYS Code Rule 56, Project Log Accountability and Supervisor role as the competent person additional emphasis is placed on following proper procedures and developing safe work habits.
An Annual Asbestos Refresher Course is required to maintain this certification.
*Yearly refreshers required by the NYSDOL are offered on a monthly basis.
